HERE’S A SET WORTH TALKING ABOUT, good aged cows that have been doing it right for a long time. 24 head of South Devon bred cows that know their job. These are home-raised, gentle cows weighing between 1,300 and 1,350 lbs, made up mostly eight-year-olds (20) with four nine-year-olds in the group. They’re bred to South Devon bulls and will calve from March 30th through May 18th. This outfit has followed the same program for 30 years, and it shows in the consistency of the cattle. They’ve received Virashield 6 VL5, Scour Guard, and have been injected with Ivermax. They’re on RioMax nutrition tubs and are easy to handle. Steer calves typically wean around 600 lbs, with heifers around 570 lbs. No baldies here, just straight red cows across the board. Bulls are from Jim Brown in Lodgegrass, Montana.
