Here is a darn nice set of Red Angus-bred cows that are the real deal. This is a complete dispersion of 55 head, all DNA-tested and parentage verified, and every one of them is in the Red Angus Tagging Program. These girls are big, stout, and carry plenty of flesh, weighing 1375 to 1450 lbs. They’re gentle, they’ve been handled right, and they’ve lived their whole lives on good Montana grass with a solid mineral program behind them. You’ll see everything from 2-year-olds up into a handful of older cows, but most of them are in their prime with a long future ahead. They’re bred to Feddes Red Angus bulls and will start calving on February 28th for about 45 days. This ranch has kept a closed herd and hit a 100% calf crop four out of the last five years, so the consistency is already proven. Steers have been weaning around 743 lbs, and heifers around 714 lbs — good, honest numbers that tell the story. They’ve had Vista 5 VL5, oral wormer, and were poured at preg-check. Mineral has been McNess Bova-Min 6 Fly through summer and fall, then switched to McNess Bova-Min 6 Biomass going into calving. These cows have been looked after right and it shows.
